Marilyn Novosel, MPH, RN, CDE

Certified Diabetes Educator

My best experience as a coach is when I make the second call (after a few weeks) to a patient, and they not only remember talking with me the first time, but recall what we discussed and are happy to speak with me again. This makes me feel that I am making a difference as their CDE Coach

Marilyn Novosel is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator. Her passion for diabetes education began early in her career when she worked on an ICU renal step-down unit at a major medical center. The complications from diabetes that she saw raised her awareness of the need for diabetes education and early intervention.  In the years that followed, she has conducted group and individual sessions as an educator in several out-patient diabetes self-management programs, and through work as a telephonic clinical prevention specialist. Marilyn has assisted individuals with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational diabetes.

She is also a Certified Insulin Pump and CGM Trainer and has initiated pump therapy for patients ranging in age from 3 years old to eighty. With a Master’s degree in Public Health, Marilyn is an advocate for pre-diabetes education and intervention to halt the rising diabetes epidemic. She is active in her professional association and does diabetes education outreach with local community organizations.

Marilyn finds it particularly rewarding when she can help an individual identify and change behaviors – even small ones – that lead to improved diabetes management and quality of life. She is excited to be a Fit4D Coach because it will provide an opportunity to further support patients on their diabetes journey.
