Q: I am wondering how Fit4D will be able to address my nutrition issues via email. It seems to me that the nutritionist would need to see me in person to look at my food and blood sugar logs.

A: We do look at your logs, but you send them to us via email or fax, whichever works better for you. Then the Registered Dietitian (RD) makes notes about your food choices and blood sugar trends, and works to help you to see the patterns in them. For example, how does your evening meal and insulin coverage affect your blood sugar at night? Are you having overnight lows that cause a fasting high blood sugar? How much does your morning walk lower your post breakfast blood glucose? Are you “chasing” low blood sugars with more food often enough to prevent your desired weight loss? These are all possible questions that might be answered by the analysis of your logs by the dietitian, and I’m sure you have your own ideas of questions you’d like to ask. The analysis of your logs occurs on an ongoing basis throughout your Fit4D program; your logs are sent to us every two weeks and in return you receive a personal assessment and nutrition recommendations to follow for the next two weeks.
