Natalie Noah, RD, LDN, CDE

Fit4D Nutrition Coach

When Natalie first became a dietitian, diabetes education was not the area in which she wanted to specialize; however, during her time as a clinical dietitian in a hospital in Nashville, she found herself thrown into the role of full-time diabetes educator when the CDE dietitian went on sick leave. During this time, Natalie found herself loving the time she spent with patients, teaching them about healthy eating and helping them gain control of their glucose levels. Eventually, her career path led her to various experiences which allowed her to further her diabetes knowledge and skills, and she decided to pursue her CDE. Now, Natalie’s passion is diabetes education.

Natalie also has a personal connection with diabetes. Her mother has pre-diabetes which was not diagnosed until after she underwent a triple bypass at age 54. Natalie often asks her mother, “What was your most recent A1C?” and she finds herself frustrated when her mother doesn’t know or says, “I’m sure if something was wrong the doctor would tell me.” Natalie believes that each person living with diabetes should have the tools needed so they can be the “captain” of their healthcare team. She also believes that people with diabetes have a choice in management of their own healthcare and that they can be empowered to make healthy choices and be an advocate for themselves. “I can give you the tools, but you have to choose to use them,” is a quote she commonly uses with her patients. Natalie’s favorite part of education is when she sees the “light bulb.”

“I love seeing the look on people’s faces when they realize that just because they have diabetes, it doesn’t mean that life is over. I love it when they realize that they can actually become a healthier person with diabetes than they were without it.”

Natalie is excited about her role as a Nutrition Coach with Fit4D because she loves to educate and empower people whenever possible. She feels Fit4D allows people who have extremely busy schedules an opportunity to continually educate themselves and receive support in their efforts.

Natalie graduated cum laude from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Kentucky. When she is not sharing her passion with others, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and scrapbooking.
